Carrion Moon
by Joe Kilgore
- 5 Stars -
Carrion Moon, by award-winning author Joe Kilgore, is simply a great crime thriller, his next book in the Brig Ellis Tales. Ellis, an ex-military man and now a private detective for hire, is a very relatable character. He reminds me of Dirk Pitt, the main character in Clive Cussler's novel series - tough as nails, relentless, principled, and yet, ruthless. What starts out as a relatively uneventful event, where Ellis is going to pick up the ashes of one of his fallen comrades from his military days, suddenly sends Ellis on the hunt, riding the razor's edge as he faces a series of crazed animalistic murders - all of them leading to an inevitable end - his end, if he doesn't find and stop the killer. Kilgore presents a very believable and thrilling novel that will keep you reading to the very last word, because when you think it's over - well, think again. A great read and highly recommended.
